Paul Hornung

Paul attended Flaget High School in Louisville and later became the greatest all-around football player in Notre Dame history. He could run, pass, block and tackle. He won the Heisman trophy in 1956, despite the fact that Notre Dame posted a losing season. Paul was the first overall pick in the 1957 NFL Draft – being selected by the Green Bay Packers. He led the league in scoring for three years in a row and helped the Packers win four league championships (in 1961, 1962, 195 and 1966). Paul is a member of the National High School, College Football and Pro Football Halls of Fame. Awards named in his honor are given out annually to the state of Kentucky’s top high school player and the most versatile college football player in the nation.
